Ministry of Education Online Survey - Recently, all grade 10 and 12 students completed a Ministry of Education online survey. This annual survey asks questions regarding student satisfaction with various aspects of school as well as questions on healthy lifestyle.

Parents of grade 10 and 12 students are also encouraged to complete this survey. If you wish to complete this online survey, you need to go to the following website then call the school - 250-449-2224 and ask for a log on code to gain access to the survey.

.Yearbooks for Sale - Students wishing to buy a yearbook are invited to bring their money to the office and give it to Sue. It will be a great memento of their high school years. Yearbooks are $35.00 and $40.00 if you would like the cover personalized with your name.

Grade 12 Report Card Marks - Grade 12 students who require marks for post-secondary entrance applications or for scholarship applications will be able to receive them. The process is for the student or parent to ask the teacher or counselor for the marks for a particular course(s), the teacher will provide the office with the student's marks and the office will produce a document for the student to use with their applications. Each secondary school will have deadlines for student requests.

Counselling News and Updates - Mrs. Storie will be at BCSS on Tuesdays and is available to assist students with academic plans, scholarships, application processes and awards.

Students should acknowledge scholarship bulletin boards, deadlines and applications made available through the career/counselling centre.

During the year, post secondary representatives will be visiting BCSS to meet with interested students. Please make a note of attending these presentations - some of them will be during lunch hour.

A Graduation Transitions package will be sent home with each Grade 12 student. Completion of the GT package is mandatory for graduation.

Students interested in attending college or university should be applying for admission NOW. If first year residency is not guaranteed, then apply for housing at the same time as applying for admission.

Transcripts for applying to Post-Secondary Institutions - All Grads who are planning to go to a post-secondary institution need to fill out a PSI form on the Ministry of Education website. The following are instructions for ordering transcripts to be sent to your choice of post-secondary institution(s):

1. go to the Provincial Education website www.bced.gov.bc.ca/exams
2. click on the "Student Secure web" icon, then "Enter"
3. create an account **you must know your PEN number!!**
4. click on "PSI forms" and follow the directions

Filling out this online form will ensure your high school transcripts are sent to your specified
post-secondary institution(s)...otherwise they will not be sent out.
